BROADWAY FOR UKRAINE

On April 3, 2022 the Broadway community gathered on the red steps of Duffy Square in Times Square for a musical vigil in solidarity with the Ukrainian people. We stood together (alongside a dozen news outlets) in the pouring rain and sang “Do You Hear the People Sing?” from Les Miserables to send a message of hope to our neighbors across the world.

I’m grateful to Shakina Nayfack, a visionary artist and inspiring activist, for inviting me to produce the event with her. We worked alongside film director & producer Annette Jolles and Lauren Modiano, in partnership with Times Square Arts, The Times Square Alliance and Broadway Cares, and with support from Broadway Advocacy Coalition, The Broadway League and Invest in Access.
